6 Month Contract Opportunity - Automation Engineer - Hybrid Role - ASAP start - Must be sydney based

Working with a client of ours in Sydney and they are on the lookout for an automation engineer to join their team on a 6 month contract basis. The role will involve both Functional and automation testing and they are looking for someone to join their team as soon as possible.
 
Responsibilities
  • Comprehend the test plan, test scope, and test strategy to ensure full understanding.
  • Develop detailed test cases that cover all aspects of the software, including positive and negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.
  • Maintain detailed test execution logs, documenting the outcome of each test case, including pass/fail results, actual outcomes, and any discrepancies.
  • Generate defect reports, including reproduction steps, severity, and priority, to facilitate quick issue resolution by the development team.
  • Maintain regression test suites to ensure the stability and consistency of the software across multiple releases.
  • Design and build web automation frameworks from the ground up, with modern technologies like Playwright, TypeScript, and WebDriverIO.
  • Develop API automation frameworks for SOAP, and GraphQL services.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement CI/CD automation strategies using tools like CircleCI to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Create clear, concise documentation for automation frameworks and testing processes.
Requirements
  • Over 5 years of experience in technical or test automation engineering roles.
  • Strong background in web automation frameworks from scratch using technologies such as Playwright, WebDriverIO, TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience in API testing and automation, covering SOAP, REST, and GraphQL.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools like CircleCI and Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Proficiency with API testing tools like ReadyAPI and Postman.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within cross-functional teams.
