Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role is for someone who has deep expertise in Azure DevOps, HashiCorp Terraform & Vault, and experience with Artifact management tools like Artifactory, GitHub, or Atlassian systems. We are also looking for someone with a strong on-premises background who understands both cloud and traditional infrastructure. As a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in streamlining and automating CI/CD pipelines, building robust infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integrations across a wide range of services and tools.
Responsibilities:
- DevOps Architecture & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery.
- Automation & Configuration Management: Leverage tools such as HashiCorp Terraform, Vault, Ansible, and Chef to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- On-Prem & Cloud Hybrid Infrastructure: Bring a balanced view of on-premises and cloud-based solutions, ensuring smooth integration across environments.
- Build & Deploy Pipelines: Develop, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other tools to enable automated testing, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with developers to understand their needs and to automate deployments, scaling, and monitoring solutions that support their work.
- Artifact Management: Support and administer tools such as Artifactory for managing dependencies and artifacts across development pipelines.
- Security & Compliance: Implement secure and compliant infrastructure practices using HashiCorp Vault, and ensure proper management of secrets and sensitive data.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring solutions, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure and pipelines for performance.
- Migration Support: Assist in the migration of Atlassian JIRA/Confluence to SaaS and manage ongoing platform updates.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Guide junior engineers, share knowledge on best practices, and help shape the DevOps culture within the organization.
- DevOps Expertise: Strong experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline creation, and cloud infrastructure automation.
- HashiCorp Tools: Advanced experience with HashiCorp Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) and Vault for secrets management.
- Artifact Management: Expertise in Artifactory, GitHub, and/or Atlassian systems (JIRA/Confluence) for source control, issue tracking, and artifact management.
- Automation Tools: Proficiency in Chef or Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with OpenShift and familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure).
- CI/CD Tools: Familiar with Jenkins and transitioning to GitHub Actions for streamlined workflows.
- On-Premises Infrastructure: Proven experience with on-prem solutions, integrating them with cloud services, and balancing hybrid environments.
- SaaS Migration: Experience with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence SaaS migrations or similar cloud migration projects is highly preferred.
- Test Automation: Knowledge of building test automation frameworks to ensure quality deployments and infrastructure stability.
- Security Awareness: A good understanding of security best practices, particularly around secret management and infrastructure security.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.
