One of our Melbourne based clients is a about to undertake a significant contract with a federal government department, we are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst to join this growing team.
Role Overview
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be key in connecting business objectives with technical solutions. Working closely with product teams, engineers, and external stakeholders, you will gather and analyse requirements, interpret complex data, and convert business needs into practical technical specifications. Your ability to quickly understand new products and concepts will be vital in advancing our projects and driving success. Having a strong understanding of software development languages will be a key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, then translate them into precise technical specifications for the development team.
- Create comprehensive written analyses, including user stories, process maps, and both product and technical specifications, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Gain a deep understanding of technical integrations and workflows, and assist the engineering team in defining, optimising, and documenting these solutions.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (product and engineering) and external partners (such as government agencies, vendors, and customers) to facilitate discussions, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Support the development and execution of testing strategies and scenarios to ensure that solutions align with business requirements and are implemented effectively.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Business Analyst processes and best practices.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Understanding software development languages
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment, with experience in the health industry being an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in analysing and documenting technical requirements and specifications.
- Familiarity with integration tools and methodologies, such as APIs and data mapping.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, etc.) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile certifications) are a plus
